Description

Race-style swirl pots are most commonly found on real race cars because the plumbing is slightly more complicated, and the majority of enthusiasts like simple whenever possible, but if you are looking for the most efficient system… the extra effort is well worth it!

Not only does the plumbing get little more involved; a race-style swirl pot also requires more space for the additional component that makes the majic happen. You will notice that there is no radiator cap here… that’s because filling is handled at the header tank. But, if you are looking for a version with a radiator cap, I’d be happy to make one for you.

This swirl pot variant replaces the original upper water neck and deletes the original water bypass and heater connections. A header tank is required to complete the system. The race-style swirl pot is only responsible for deaerating the coolant that passes through, and the header tank’s job is to collect and separate the air from the coolant, contain it, and allow for expansion. If you prefer, I also offer a remote mount variant that sits on the shock tower.

NOTE: You have total control over this project! What is shown is just an example… you can call out the diameter, the height, and the inlet/ outlet positions. Understand that the water bypass connection will now come from the bottom of the header tank and not the water neck. The heater core feed will need to come from the bottom of the swirl pot and can either be returned to the header tank or to the original location on the water pump housing.
