This variant offers a convenient fill point to the RWD Standard Hose Extreme Clearance Water Neck Kit.
I will not sell either component in this kit separately, as they are meant to work together.
The outlet on the K24A, K24A2, and K20Z3 sits over the transmission, and I’ve seen that this creates trouble in several situations, and as the popularity of the k swap grows, I fully expect that the number of unique welded solutions will also. So, if you need a special bend to connect your upper radiator hose, just let me know, and I’m sure we can make something happen!
The four bolt block-off measures 11/16″ thick. The idea here is that everyone still needs to accommodate the intake and exhaust cam sensors, and my part does that in less space than the K20 cam sensor requires and matches the space the K24 cam sensor requires, giving you the MAXIMUM clearance possible. The flange uniquely merges the original water outlet with the traditionally unused EGR passage on RBB and RBC cylinder heads, sending water to the intake manifold flange surface, where a unique water bypass adapter re-merges the EGR port with the enlarged original water bypass port to achieve a level of flow that allows this unique flange to serve as an outlet.
NOTE: This product can only be used with the RBB/RBC/RSP cylinder heads or similar heads that DO NOT have a COMPLETE EGR SYSTEM. The passage that comes to the intake manifold surface must be unused and available. If you are interested in a custom outlet configuration, please email sales@tractuff.com
It is MANDATORY that you open the cylinder heads’ original water bypass port, using the bypass outlet as a template, to increase water flow. The original passage, combined with the EGR passage, is not enough. The bypass port MUST be enlarged. DO NOT buy this product if you are not prepared or capable of performing this task. The original .500″ water bypass hole does not provide enough flow. I provide a template to give you lines to stay within as you grind. The .500″ hole can easily be opened up to .830″ x .920″ at the widest points (approximately) to increase flow enough to be combined with the .750″ EGR passage and serve as the new outlet.
I highly recommend purchasing the M5 Drill and Tap Kit to support the standard upper link. Here is the “How to” for drilling the cylinder head for the “optional” M5 retaining bolt. It is IMPERATIVE that you design the upper radiator hose with droop/give so the engine’s movement does not push/pull on the new outlet. The M5 drill-and-tap kit provides additional support to the standard upper link.
Remember, the block-off does NOT have a heater outlet; the original intended use would not have allowed for the connection. If you do have the space, I can weld a male or female -10 bung over the heater passage. If you do not have the room, I recommend my M28 to -10 male flare adapter.
