The move was made to reduce the cost and lead-time associated with the very manual way I was making inline thermostats before. The new design incorporates a -16 ORB threaded HOT SIDE with two CNC machined -8 ORB ports 90° from each other. You will be given the choice of fitting to screw into the -16 ORB and -8 ORB ports as well as the type of connection you want to see on the COLD SIDE.

A thermostat is a CRITICAL component of the cooling system and its operation; without one… it may be hard to get an engine up to operating temp within a reasonable time or even worse, keeping the coolant in the radiator long enough to remove enough heat before it goes back into the engine where temps continue to climb, and eventually lead to overheating!

Coolant Bypass Port – A Coolant Bypass Port is incorporated into the “Hot Side” of the thermostat housing. The bypass is responsible for bringing the gradually warming water/ coolant that is circulating in the block and cylinder head(s) past the thermostat (when it is closed) and eventually tells it when to open.

Accessory Port – Accessory Return Port is also incorporated into the “Hot Side” of the thermostat housing. The accessory return is responsible for returning water/coolant from a heater core or water/coolant-cooled accessory.
