Description
A duplicate of the super-popular V1SR swirl pot for the PRB/ PRC cylinder head is now available for the RBB/ RBC/ RSP cylinder head!
I recommend this version whenever possible because it incorporates several features that I simply cannot build into other versions, due to space constraints. A great use of space for those of you that don’t have things that conflict with it; it has a high entry/ low outlet, a substantial bracket to help support the assembly, and an outlet position that allows for the best plumbing options possible. And by best, I mean it allows for more hose to be used and reduces bad hose routing.
This swirl pot starts with a beautifully machined 6061-T6 flange that incorporates a -16 ORB outlet port and a 1/2″ NPT heater port. You can choose to have any number of accessory bung options added to the tank in any open space. The outlet itself can be configured for a standard hose (1.25″ OD) or -16 male flare.
The hardware kit includes four M8 socket head bolts, a 1/2″ NPT plug, and a pair of o-rings. The swirl pot is welded so that it sits level when bolted to an engine leaned back 15° (OEM option) or leaned forward 8° (Gangster Lean engine mount option).
The space between the swirl pot and the flange makes the rear upper mounting bolt a challenge to get to without the right tools. If you don’t already own one, you may want to add a 6mm Stubby L-Key.
NOTE: The V3 swirl pot DOES NOT natively fit/ work with the EURO R or TSX type transmission.
The cap bung has a 1/16″ NPT port for connection to an overflow and uses early model Honda radiator caps, such as an 88′-91′ Civic/ CRX or 90′-93′ Integra. If you are using AN lines, I recommend designing the upper radiator hose so that there is droop/ give… so the engine’s movement does not push/ pull on the radiator and fatigue any parts.
Due to the location of the swirl pot body, the 90° heater hose fitting I usually include with this flange does not fit. If you would like to retain in cabin heat, I can weld a female -8 ORB bung for use with my custom 11/16″ fitting, a -10 male flare bung, or an 11/16” male slip hose bung to the back of the swirl pot for an additional $30.
