G Series Timing Belt Idler

Over the past few years I have had a handful of followers on social media reach out and ask about a product they saw in a picture or video… that product being the Meziere H Series Timing Belt Idler. Essentially a water pump delete, a low friction, easy spinning, and rebuildable idler.

I’ve explained that it doesn’t fit the F22/ F23 SOHC block more times than I can count. In August 2025 I decided to stop talking, created this listing, and offered a way for consumers to put their money where their mouths were. Obviously, no one else wants to make it!

To sit down and draw this (CAD), draw the fixtures (more CAD) to hold the parts during each of the machining steps, and then programming the CNC to cut the fixtures and then the two parts requires a certain quantity to not only justify the effort. In order for me to reach a price point you (consumers) are willing to pay… I must commit to quantity. Fewer parts means the more money each will cost. I’m shooting from the hip when I say $220.00 and I know I must make at least 50 pcs to reach that target. The community is being asked to cover half of that burden; as soon as 25 customers have committed… I’ll start the process.

Product Details

Much like the H22 offering… the F22/ F23  plate will be machined from US milled 6061 aluminum, incorporate an OEM o-ring groove, and will be anodized. The toothed idler pulley will have 26 teeth and will also be anodized. The pulley will ride on replaceable precision ball bearings that spin significantly easier than an OEM water pump.

Several benefits can be traced back to the uncoupling of the water pump from the crankshaft, such as a reduction in parasitic drag, which will free up horsepower and torque. The elimination of pump cavitation and the associated troubles relating to it. Better control of the cooling systems temperatures through the use of electronics. Manually override pump and fan(s) to cool the motor while the engine is off.
