TracTuff -16 Male Bung – Special

TracTuff “Special” -16 male weld-on bungs are manufactured here in the US from US-milled, certified 6061-T6 aluminum and are unique to TracTuff!

I started making these in 2012 because I absolutely hated welding traditional panel-style weld-on bungs to the end of a 1.25″ tube. The bungs would not stay in place, and it was painful to get them centered. I also found that the butt weld was not as strong as I would like. I weld a lot of them, so I got to drawing and came up with these, and have been using them internally ever since.

Up until now, the only way you could get one was to buy one of my DIY swirl pot kits. Well, I have upped the volume and now feel good about making them available on their own.

These -16 male flare bungs are a slight press fit onto 1.25″ OD thin wall tube and have a chamfered entry to reduce turbulence that comes with a 1.12″ tube ID meeting the .844″ -16 ID. Also, the 1.44″ OD of the weld area allows you to weld them on flat surfaces, but they don’t have a register that helps center them over the hole.

I highly recommend lubricating the threads of both parts before screwing in a fitting.
