TracTuff XL Remote Oil Filter Mount

The TracTuff XL Remote Oil Filter Mount is a universal product designed to relocate large race-type oil filters to a more convenient location. The availability of this product is tied to that of my standard remote oil filter mount, so please check its stock before assuming it is available.

The XL Remote Oil Filter Mount starts as my standard remote oil filter mount, designed to accommodate the popular Honda S2000 oil filter. It is then manually machined (after ordering) to remove the cup feature and create additional space to accommodate a larger race-type filter.

Race oil filters have been around for a long time… we just haven’t been able to run them due to the small oil filter mounting surface found on most import engines. These larger, higher-flowing oil filters offer a few things that OEM oil filters cannot: most notably, an increase in surface area, which is directly tied to their size and allows for a substantial increase in contaminant-load handling before it negatively affects oil flow rates. The other is a larger choice of micron ratings that affect oil flow before contaminant load.

The filter mount has a unique bracket that can be flipped independently of the mount, allowing it to be mounted in one of two positions. CNC-machined “IN” & “OUT” markings make it easy to identify each of the -10 ORB ports, and the extra effort to machine a special galley provides you with a 1/8″ NPT filtered oil accessory port. The hardware kit includes 1/8″ NPT plugs and stainless steel flat head screws to mount the bracket to the oil filter mount.

NOTE: If you don’t already have an adapter to get the oil from the original filter location to your new remote mount… I have an equally well-thought-out solution, so please check it out. If you are choosing NOT to buy the port fittings, please be sure to purchase ones with a max hex size of 1.15; otherwise, they won’t work. I also strongly recommend installing a one-way check valve on the line supplying oil to this product, as close to the source as possible.
