TracTuff K24Z Rear Wheel Drive K Swap Water Neck

$279.95

The K24Z RWD upper water neck is essentially a copy of my super popular K24A variant; it addresses a few concerns for the community swapping a K24Z into various front-engine rear-drive chassis.

Normally, the water neck on a K is right up front and a few inches from the radiator and pretty equal in height, but despite that... the K has been notorious for being a real bitch to bleed! Now, rotate the motor 90°, tilt it back, make the hose go under the intake manifold, and boom! You've introduced a spot for air to accumulate.

If the radiator fill point is equal in height to the bleed on this water neck, you should be fine with this entry-level product, but if the radiator fill point is lower, you should be looking at my filler neck... at a minimum.

The fabricated K Series water neck replaces the bulky OEM piece and its huge, oddly angled heater core fitting. The water neck starts with a unique (click the link if you'd like to know why it's unique) CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum flange and has a custom mandrel-bent 1.25" tube welded to it that mimics the OEM S2000 outlet position. The flange incorporates a factory ECT sensor and a second -16 ORB port.

The hardware kit includes four M8 socket head bolts, a -16 ORB plug, and a pair of o-rings.

NOTE: Made to Order - Contact for an ETA - If you are interested in a specific design that varies from this, please email us at sales@tractuff.com. You will need at least 1.99" of space between the firewall and the water neck mounting surface to run this!

The second -16 ORB port was originally offered for those looking to have the outlet exit the exhaust manifold side of the engine bay. If you would like to use the port to get hot water to a heater core, I recommend you get a -16 ORB to -10 male flare port adapter and a -10 push-on or push-loc style hose-end, as it is the closest in size to most heater core hoses. However, if you would like to add a filler tube to the unused -16 ORB port (opposite the outlet), I can eliminate the -16 ORB plug and add a 90° fill tube and radiator cap bung to burp the cooling system conveniently.

The filler tube would be moved to the opposite side in the example shown below.
