TracTuff RBB/ RBC Swirl Pot - RWD V1 Extreme
Born from a failure, the RWD V1X is the evolution of the RWD V1 for use in extreme scenarios.
In late January of 2025, a customer received an RWD V1 that was purchased off the website. By mid-May of 2025, that customer reached out with a problem. After hearing how the product was being used in a pretty punishing off-road environment, I formed a plan to produce a more durable product. I am happy to say that the customer has been using the resulting product since early April 2025 without any reported incidents.
Unfortunately, in early September of 2025, a customer with an S2000 endurance race car reached out with concerns about a similar failure. Leaning on the experience above, I proposed this same product and will be building him this new variant in late September.
This variant starts with the same billet flange and transfer tube as the original V1, but the transfer tube has been cut and rejoined using multi-ply fiber-reinforced silicon tube and high-quality hose clamps. The body of the swirl pot has been upgraded from .063" wall to .125" wall. The heavy wall pipe has a rough finish and requires that I turn the exterior for a nice weldable finish, resulting in a wall thickness between .115" and .120". The billet lid and base then need to be machined to fit the smaller ID... and that's it. The two-piece design and heavy wall upgrade are the only differences.
The hardware kit includes four M8 socket head bolts, a 90° heater hose fitting, a 1/2" NPT plug, an EGR passage plug, and a pair of o-rings. The swirl pot is welded so that it sits level when bolted to an engine leaned back 15°.
NOTE: Made to Order - Contact for ETA - If you are interested in a specific design that varies from this, please email us at sales@tractuff.com. The cap bung has a 1/16" NPT port for connection to an overflow and uses early-model Honda radiator caps, such as those found on an 88'-91' Civic/ CRX or 90'-93' Integra.
You CANNOT use a thermal intake manifold gasket with this product. I recommend intake manifold bolts over studs to make installation and removal easier. The use of studs may require the swirl pot to be loosened or even moved for the manifold to be removed.
If you have chosen to ship your manifold in, please be aware that return shipping is NOT included in the price calculated for this purchase. Return shipping will be calculated and collected when it is ready to ship back.
Due to the large differences in each intake manifold design, the finished product will differ from the image shown. Also, unique features on some of these manifolds, such as the second fuel rail on the S2 Ultra Race, will either dictate the inlet and outlet positions or render that feature unusable. I will break down your options in an email once the product has been purchased.
The KMiata manifold spec swirl pot has been redesigned to eliminate the need to have the manifold shipped in. You will, however, need to have the included mounting lug welded to your manifold on your own.
The S2000 manifold spec swirl pot uses an existing mounting point on the manifold, but due to variations in S2000 manifold to K-series cylinder head adapters, you must communicate the adapters' thickness to ensure the bracket lines up properly.
